Writer's Guide

We're glad you're here to share your experiences and help others navigate the world more comfortably. This guide will walk you through the basics of submitting clear, helpful ratings that make a real difference. Whether you're reviewing a quiet bookshop or a lively restaurant, your perspective matters.

Let's get started!

Be kind

Try to your review centered on the environment and your actual experience, rather than on staff, other customers or things that cannot be changed.

2.png

Be real

Share the whole picture of your experience, not just one aspect. Describe both the positives and negatives you encountered, giving a balanced view that helps others form realistic expectations.

Be you

Rate experiences based on how you feel. There's no need to compare yourself to others or guess what's "normal." Your unique perspective is valuable, so share how you genuinely felt in the space.

How stimulating?

How did the place feel to your senses? Describe the noise levels, lighting, and any strong smells or textures. Was it busy and lively, or calm and quiet? Mention if there were any chill-out spots or things to do, like board games, books, or TVs.

How inclusive?

Did you feel welcome and like you belonged? Look for signs that the place is LGBTQ+ friendly or caters to diverse groups. Think about whether you saw yourself represented in the staff or other visitors.

How accesible?

Keep an eye out for things that make the space easy (or hard) to use for everyone. Are there ramps or lifts? How about the toilets - easy to find and use? Notice if walkways are wide enough for wheelchairs or if there are any tricky steps.

How safe?

Think about how safe you felt in the space. Would you be comfortable here alone? Consider things like lighting, the overall vibe, and how easy it would be to leave if you needed to.
