faff

/fæf/ [british informal]

verb: to fool around or spend time idly

noun: an unnecessary or over-complicated task

My Our Story

Unfaff was born out of personal experience and a desire for change. In 2022, I (Nicki) started a blog to share my encounters with noisy, overstimulating bars and pubs (and the eternal quest to find the loo). It turns out, I wasn't alone in feeling utterly overwhelmed by these spaces.

Initially focusing on Leeds and London, the project took a more Leeds-centric turn when I moved here in the Spring of 2023. That same year, I received an ADHD diagnosis, followed by an autism diagnosis in early 2025. Suddenly, the puzzle pieces started fitting together.

With these new revelations and a growing awareness of neurodiversity, I decided to relaunch the project under a new name: unfaff. Our mission expanded beyond just my experiences to include our whole community's perspectives, considering a plethora of other factors and locations.

Today, we're on a collective journey to uncover and share information about the UK's most inclusive spaces. From cafes to music venues, we're exploring how safe, welcoming, and accessible these places really are. By sharing our experiences, we're making it easier for everyone to find spaces where they can truly feel comfortable.

Join us as we remove the faff and help you find your space, one venue at a time!
